Why do we sometimes have white spots on our nails?

Don't you ever notice those white spots on your nails? What and why do we have them? Why do we sometimes have white spots on our nails?
White spots can indicate a deficiency in your diet. Or it can indicate certain types of illnesses. Try improving your daily nutrition and see if they go away. Be patient and give it time for the better nutrition to work. But if they're still there after several months, I'd go to your doctor and check if anything else could be wrong. Good luck! Why do we sometimes have white spots on our nails?
I've always heard that you get them from having a zinc deficiency. I'm not even sure if that's true or not, it's just what I've always been told. if it's true, vitamins would take care of them.

Happy New Year!
Sometimes it happens when your nail gets bent. They're also calcium deposits.
You get them from whacking them up against things. For instance my friend plays hockey so she has tons of them on her nails.
Small deposits of calcium. As your nail grows out .. it moves forward with the rest of your nail. Good Luck! :)
the old wives tale is that they are the marks of telling lies.
The technical term is Leuconycia and it is a separation between the nail bed and the nail plate caused by an injury. Can also be caused by a zinc deficiency
Not to worry...it's just calcium deposits. They'll grow out as your nail grows.
